Working in a corporate environment with natural hair...

I have been on maternity leave since wearing my hair natural. I thought I had a few months before my big debut. However, there is a mandatory end of year meeting for management that I have to attend with baby in tow. I guess my debut will be earlier than I thought....

  1. Don't worry about it. Your hair will look wonderful and no one will have anything to say but positive remarks. You KNOW this. Good luck!

  2. b. is always so positive. Don't let her send you off. I don't think it will be bad at all but you should prepare yourself for questions. My coworker (whom I've had a lot of conversations with about race and hair considering I've only been there a short time) asked me if my hair grew when I wore a braid-out on Monday. Yes, she saw me on Friday. So expect curiosity and questions, not necessarily negative comments. They will probably be so excited over your son, they won't notice your hair. That might not make you feel better but at least it will give you more time.

  3. You know you're both right. Everyday I am getting more confident in my new look and as I get older less concerned about others' thoughts about me.
