Like many Black women, I have chemically processed my hair for most of my life. I used to love the way hair felt after a 'fresh perm', which lasted until it was time for a touch-up. When I became pregnant and gave birth to my son, processing my hair was not an option. So, I went the braid and weave route. I, and especially my husband, became increasingly frustated with this look for a variety of reasons. I decided to wear my hair natural. A decision that excited and scared me at the same time.
Clearly I don't live in Toronto but I am always looking for natural hair salons since I can't find one I like consistently or just looking for pictures online. Here are a few links I discovered.
